The Seniors Network Berlin invites all individuals, institutions and organizations to register their offers for older people with us. Our editorial team checks the suggestions and translates them into understandable language. Only then is the offer published.
The offers must:
- be for seniors or be suitable for seniors.
- take place in the state of Berlin.
- be non-commercial (non-profit and non-profit organizations, public corporations).
- from the given subject areas. are added to the platform and updated independently by the providers.
The content must be compatible with the free democratic basic order and the values of workers' welfare (solidarity, tolerance, freedom, equality and justice).
Every fifth elderly person in Germany is affected by old-age poverty.
We want as many people as possible to be able to take part in the activities in the seniors network. That is why most activities are free of charge or there are only small costs. For example, for coffee, materials or fees. The maximum cost for an activity is 10.00 euros per hour for one person.
People in need of care who live at home and have at least care level 1 can receive up to 125 euros every month. This money is called a relief amount. It can be used for various types of assistance, such as:
- Help with household chores, such as cleaning or tidying up
- Help in everyday life, such as accompanying people while shopping
- Groups in which people are active together to keep their minds or bodies fit
The money can also be used for other things related to care.
The Senior Network Berlin offers services that allow the so-called “relief amount” to be paid to the nursing care insurance fund.
The Senior Citizens Network Berlin has been funded by the State of Berlin since 2024, namely by the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care (SenWGP).
In the period from 2020 to 2023, the Seniorennetz Berlin was supported by the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin (DKLB).
