Digital strategy
Berlin - A smart city for and by senior citizens
Berlin is becoming increasingly digital! Whether it's booking a doctor's appointment or a train ticket or doing banking transactions and dealing with the authorities - fewer and fewer matters can be dealt with locally. Many people, especially the elderly, are being excluded as a result.
To counteract this, Seniorennetz Berlin, Digital-Zebra (Berlin Library Network) and Infotelefon (Silbernetz e.V.) have joined forces. They have been part of Berlin's digitalization strategy Gemeinsam Digital: Berlin (GD:B) since the end of 2023 with their project Berlin - A Smart City for and by Seniors. The three projects are working together to break down barriers. To enable digital and ultimately social participation for all older people in Berlin. Berlin is the first federal state with a digital strategy for older people.
