The Senior Network Berlin project
The Senior Network Berlin project consists of three parts:
1) Internet page
You can find many offers and events in your area on the Seniorennetz Berlin website. The website can be found under the link www.seniorennetz.berlin.
There are many topics, especially in the areas of leisure, culture and education. The offers of the Berlin Volks-Hochschulen are also displayed here.
The Seniorennetz works together with Berlin districts as well as many institutions and organizations for this purpose.
The offers are entered by institutions, but also by older people themselves.
All offers are free of charge or free of charge.
On the start page there is important information. For example from the Berlin police.
The website is barrier-free and written in understandable language.
The site can be displayed in different languages.
2) Info boxes
The senior network works closely with three Berlin districts. These are the districts of Mitte, Pankow and Spandau. There you will find our info boxes.
The info boxes are for people without knowledge of the Internet or without their own device.
Here you can get information from the Berlin Seniors' Network.
You can print out interesting offers and take them home with you.
You can use the info boxes alone or with help.
The info boxes can also be used with a wheelchair/walker.
The offer is free of charge.
3) Tablet courses
The Seniorennetz Berlin offers tablet courses and the AWO Digitalcafé.
These are for older people with no prior knowledge.
The offer is free of charge.
The Senior Network Berlin is a project of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Berlin (AWO Berlin).
Alpha seal
6.2 million adults in Germany have problems with reading and writing. The Alpha Seal is awarded to organizations that make their services accessible to people with reading and writing difficulties.
All entries on Seniorennetz Berlin are written in understandable language. The Seniorennetz Berlin website was awarded the Alpha Seal for this in March 2022. The locations of the info boxes also have the Alpha Seal.
