Our mission
Every fifth person is affected by poverty in old age and more and more are reporting loneliness. The AWO wants to counteract this with its senior citizens' network.
To date, there is no online platform in Berlin that brings together all leisure activities, events, places and important information specifically for older people. We are changing that with Seniorennetz Berlin and offering older people and our partners an overview. Activities for every budget can not only be found, but also actively entered on the platform.
The Seniorennetz is a safe place to try out and learn about digital technology at a low threshold. This encourages older people to find their own way in an increasingly digitalized world.
What is the Senior Network Berlin?
The platform
The content of the www.seniorennetz.berlin platform was developed in collaboration with the Berlin districts and older people. It provides a digital overview of offers, events and locations and is aimed at older people in Berlin. There are a variety of topics, particularly in the areas of leisure, culture and education.
District facilities, independent providers and older people themselves can enter facilities and offers. Only non-commercial offers are recorded. The Seniorennetz Berlin makes no claim to completeness. The offer is expanded and editorially checked daily.
Since the end of 2022, all offers from Berlin adult education centers for people over 55 years of age have been displayed in the senior network. Under "Partners" on the homepage, you can also find lots of valuable information on the topic of ageing in Berlin.

The info boxes
analog contact points are available - the info boxes. These were specially made for the senior network. They provide iPads and laser printers. The info boxes enable the presentation but also the use of the digital offer in the facilities. Here, the technology can be tried out alone or with support and the platform can be explored. The info boxes are barrier-free. With the info boxes, the Seniorennetz Berlin has been selected by the Digital Pakt Alter initiative of BAGSO (Federal Working Group of Senior Citizens' Organizations) as a place of learning and experience in Germany.
The Berlin Seniors' Network has been funded by the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care (SenWGP) since January 1, 2024.
