Excursion "Animal World in the Great Tiergarten"

Bookmark
This tour will discuss both historical and urban links.

What

The Hohenzollern, a royal family, used to like to go hunting. They rode through a wooden gate into their hunting area - the Great Tiergarten. This is why the name of this park comes.

Today one can no longer see a hunt there, but there are metal works that remind of earlier hunting scenes. Many monuments also decorate the park. The garden was designed in 1840 by Peter Joseph Lenné and is about 230 hectares.

After the Second World War, the park was rebuilt in the 1950s. Since then, it has been a green oasis in the middle of the city. Many people come here to relax and enjoy fresh air. The park also improves the climate in the city.

In addition, many animals live here. Especially many birds have found a home here. And now you can even watch beavers - the biggest rodent living in Germany.
