Documentary: “Por los camiones del sur”

In "Por los camiones del sur," the stories of six musicians wind their way along country roads through breathtaking panoramas in southern Mexico. The protagonists aren't in the spotlight of big stages. They earn their living playing guitars and accordions in the narrow aisles of intercity buses. Bathed in sweat, their voices drown out aging engines. They slip through the ever-tightening mesh of the transport company's inspectors. At the same time, the film looks at their lives beyond the roadside, where the musicians - philosophize about the qualities of fighting cocks, - promote nutritional supplements, or - dream of a leap into stardom in the back rooms of Acapulco's nightclubs.
