Project Stay@Home – Treat@Home (STH)

Survey of people in need of care in Berlin

Ladies and Gentlemen

As part of our Stay@Home – Treat@Home (STH) project, we are investigating,
how well cared for people in need of care feel in Berlin.

STH is an innovation project to improve outpatient care for elderly people in need of care.

The aim is to detect and communicate health deteriorations at an early stage through a telemedicine-supported care network with a uniform communication structure (interactive health diary).
The following should:

  • Hospital stays avoided,
  • maintain quality of life and
  • Medical resources are used efficiently.

The project is led by Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It is funded by the Innovation Fund of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA).

The scientific research accompanying the project is being conducted by the Geriatrics Research Group at Charité. This involves surveying family caregivers of people in need of care in Berlin – even if the new form of care is not being used.

The surveys are conducted online via "SoSci Survey" at the beginning of the study, as well as after three and six months. The topics covered are:

  • Quality of life,
  • Health,
  • Need for care,
  • Sense of security and
  • the burden on family members.

All data is collected and evaluated anonymously.

Relatives of people aged 60 and over who require care and live at home in Berlin are eligible to participate.
