LGBTI* specialist unit, ageing and care
The LGBTI*, ageing and care unit is part of the Gay Counseling Service Berlin. For years, it has been providing a wide range of services for younger and older lesbian, gay, bi+, trans* and inter* (LGBTI*) people in need of care.
The LGBTI*, Ageing and Care Unit sees itself as a bridge between the LGBTI* communities and the people, institutions and administrations concerned with ageing and care in Berlin.
The department is committed to promoting opportunities for participation and social acceptance of older LGBTI* people and those in need of care in Berlin.
In addition, it informs older people about sensitized offers of psychosocial or legal advice, voluntary support and care or care advice.
In addition to advice and discussion groups, it also offers a mobile visiting service and coordinates the Lebensort Vielfalt multi-generational residential homes with integrated care shared flats. It also qualifies and certifies care facilities, hospices and leisure centers.
