Online "I was once" - Approaches to autobiographical writing

Those who record their own life history are going on a time journey. And experience all the paradoxes and embarrassment that are associated with such an undertaking. Uncover and hide, self-representation and self-consideration necessarily go hand in hand. We approach this particular genre by dealing with a wide range of classical works in shorter extracts, but also with some unknown or unpublished texts. Neighbouring fields such as diaries, oral history or autocative works also come to their right. The course is designed to the same extent as the reading and writing course. In the context of smaller exercises, participants will be given the opportunity to test standard situations of autobiographical writing and to keep the balance as far as possible on the narrow line between poetry and truth.
Stefan Schumann writes as a freelance author and journalist for well-known newspapers and magazines as well as for radio. Finally, the natural history research "On the search for the wild horses" and "Vom Wesen der Rifles" (both near Galiani) appeared.
The course takes place online via the vhs.cloud.
