Excursion "Asian water buffalo in the nature reserve"
What
The use of animals in landscape care is basically nothing new. The grazing has always brought extremely useful effects for the preservation of the landscape and biodiversity. In addition, expensive technology can be avoided.
In recent times, water buffalo is often used on very moist areas. The sociable shellfish are robust, sufficient and peaceful and live in herds. By eating growing plants, they create habitats for less competitive plant species. Their swings and tights serve many amphibians as spawning places and to survive in hot, low-rain periods.
The first grazing season at Tegeler Flasse was opened in 2015. At the four-hour excursion with a diploma biologist, Gunter Martin, which ends in Old Tegel, you can currently meet six water buffalo.
