Dr. Havelmüller - Promoted chemist and scherzpoet

Bookmark
Scenic reading with Claudia J. Bauer and Meinhard Schröder in the framework of the 9th Tegeler History Sundays

What

Little is known about Emil Jacobsen's childhood and youth. He completed a pharmacy exam that prepared him for his pharmaceutical and chemical studies and helped him build his own laboratory. During his studies he became famous for publishing the test material in chemistry in rhyme to facilitate learning. The "reactionary" became very popular and experienced several editions.

Emil Jacobsen also lived out his humorist side, became a member of the "Association of Berlin Artists" and was very appreciated there. However, one must not see him as a Fascingsown: Heinrich Seidel describes him as someone who hardly laughed, but presented funny things with a painful tone and a caring expression, which increased the effect of his fun.
