Sonay social life e.V.
Sonay soziales Leben e.V. is a Berlin-based association. It was founded in 2022 by eight young people and their savings. Sonay means something like: The point where the end and the beginning meet. Our aim is to empower senior citizens and young people to support each other. In doing so, we show them their valuable skills. They can use them to do good things for each other. This usually takes the form of projects and activities.
We currently focus on three areas of activity:
In the "Generationen-WG" project, we place senior citizens and young people in shared flats. We then provide them with support. The project aims to strengthen intergenerational cohesion, exchange and community spirit.
In the "Digital Coach" project, we train young people to become "digital coaches". We enable them to lead digital education programs for senior citizens. There are currently 13 programs for senior citizens throughout Berlin. They are led by 30 young volunteers and reach over 50 senior citizens per week. In cooperation with the Seniorennetz, we offer the so-called AWO Digital Cafés in Berlin libraries.
In the "Crafts taster days" project, senior volunteers are involved in workshops at schools. They pass on their former professions in the skilled trades to young people. In this way, they provide support with career guidance. We currently work with 5 senior citizens and reach over 200 pupils with this offer.
