Seniorenvertretungswahl 2027
Elections for the district senior citizens' councils will take place in Berlin from March 5 to 12, 2027.
Who can vote?
Any person aged 60 or older whose primary residence is in Berlin.
German citizenship is not required.
How do people vote?
By mail-in ballot or at polling places.
Voting materials will be mailed to eligible voters.
Why Vote?
District Senior Citizens' Councils—is this the first time you've heard of them?
These councils serve as a voice for Berlin's older residents. They ensure that the needs and interests of older residents are incorporated into the political decision-making process and taken into account when decisions are made.
The district senior citizens’ councils have the opportunity to advise policymakers on all issues relevant to older adults in the committees of the district council. They also send their executive board members to the state committee. The state committee advises the Berlin House of Representatives and the relevant Senate department on issues related to senior citizens.
The senior citizens’ committees advocate for many issues. These include, for example:
- Improvements such as more seating in the neighborhood
- longer green phases at traffic lights
- Protection against the effects of climate change, for example through the development of a heat protection plan

By voting, you give a voice and influence to the interests of older adults.
The Berlin Senior Citizens’ Participation Act provides the legal basis for the work of the district senior citizens’ councils.
The district senior citizens’ councils are independent, politically neutral, and non-denominational.
They generally consist of 17 members. The minimum number must not be less than 13. These members serve in a volunteer capacity.

Senior citizen committees are groups where older adults meet. They discuss issues that are important to older adults. They represent their interests and collaborate with policymakers and government officials.

Für die Wahl der Seniorenvertretungen können Sie kandidieren und wählen.
Hierfür gibt es zwei Voraussetzungen:
- Sie sind am 5. März 2027 60 Jahre oder älter
- Sie haben ihren Hauptwohnsitz in einem Bezirk in Berlin
Auch ohne deutschen Pass können Sie kandidieren und wählen! Ihr Stimme zählt: Wir möchten Sie dazu motivieren zu kandidieren. Reden Sie mit, entscheiden Sie mit und gestalten Sie für Senior*innen Berlin mit!
FaMiPA ist für Seniorinnen und Senioren mit Migrationsgeschichte jederzeit ansprechbar, die für die Wahl der Seniorenvertretungen kandidieren möchten.

Sie möchten mitentscheiden oder wählen? Das ist ganz einfach. Es gibt nur zwei Voraussetzungen:
- Sie sind am 5. März 2027 mindestens 60 Jahre alt.
- Sie haben Ihren Hauptwohnsitz in einem Berliner Bezirk.
Auch ohne deutschen Pass können Sie kandidieren und wählen! Die Staatsangehörigkeit spielt keine Rolle.
Bringen Sie Ihre Perspektive ein!
Wir ermutigen Sie herzlich zur Kandidatur. Geben Sie der LSBTI*-Community in Ihrem Bezirk eine starke Stimme! Reden Sie ein Wort mit, wenn es um die Zukunft und die Angebote für ältere Menschen vor Ort geht.
In der Senior*innenvertretung können Sie sich zum Beispiel einsetzen für:
- Passende Angebote und Treffpunkte für ältere LSBTI*
- Eine bedarfsgerechte und queer-freundliche Pflege sowie Versorgung
- Ein vielfältiges und diskriminierungsarmes Miteinander im Bezirk
Sie können sich selbst aufstellen lassen oder eine andere Person nominieren. Vorschläge können bis zum 02. Oktober 2026 eingereicht werden.
